ELIZABETHAN COURT DOCUMENT.
Manuscript Document, about 265 x 430 mm, [1595?], on vellum, being an exemplification in the Court of Common Pleas. 16 lines, in brown ink in a decorative gothic documentary hand with capital space left blank. With large fragment of the wax seal of the Court of Common Pleas depicting Queen Elizabeth enthroned. Matted and framed (unexamined out of frame).

The Court of Common Pleas was established in the 12th or 13th century as the common law court of the English legal system. The court existed for nearly 600 years, and for its entire existance was located at Westminster Hall.
