Created in 1985, Series II Cube is one of the largest examples of Bell's coated glass cubes and is in many ways a zenith of his experiments in this area. According to the artist, fewer than six such cubes were ever created. Standing on a transparent base, the cube has dual properties of a mirrored surface and a transparent optic wonder. Sections of this monumental cube were recently re-fabricated by the artist in his Taos, New Mexico studio. The cube was then reassembled under the supervision of the artist by Jack Brogan of Brogan Studios, Los Angeles.
