One of the most sought-after pallasites of all is Esquel. Its large, spellbinding olivine crystals are thought to have originated in the core-mantle boundary of a large planetary body which broke apart, producing the Asteroid Belt. The present example shows the characteristic large crystals in a finely polished iron matrix.
