Fish Mural with Uncommon Species

This unusual fossil fish, Notogoneus is presented with a relative of the modern bass, a Priscacara liops. Both were trapped in the calcium carbonate limestone sediments of a 51-million-year-old lake bed. The stone has been backed with high-grade birch plywood and fitted with a French cleat for wall installation.
