Lot Details
Pseudoscorpion in Dinosaur-age Amber
Cretaceous (Apian)
Myanmar, India

Amber inclusions from the Age of Dinosaurs are very rare. This amber was laboriously removed from the deep jungles of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) on the back of an elephant, prior to the political upheaval and mine closures which now make excavation of such treasures impossible. Within the present purplish block of amber is a pseudoscorpion dated at over 105 million years. The presentation of the specimen is spectacular, with both claws open as though the creature is reaching up from its ancient amber tomb.
Amber measures Measures 1/4 x 3/16 x 1/16in; Pseudoscorpion measures 1/8in
