    Thomas Soulsbury Williamson, R.N. served as an Able Seaman on board Discovery, and took part in the sledging programme, including a journey in September 1903 to the Cape Crozier emperor penguin rookery. He subsequently served under Scott again as Petty Officer on the Terra Nova, and is commemorated in Antarctica by Williamson Rock, on the coast between Cape Tennyson and Cape Crozier.
