  • A volume from the library of Discovery, with a fine presentation inscription post-expedition from Hartley T. Ferrar, the expedition's geologist, to Mary Hardy "Ex Libris S.S. "Discovery" National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904--Mary M. Hardy from Hartley T. Ferrar Oct. 24th 1904", and with the initials HDP in blue crayon at foot. It is included in the printed Catalogue of Books of the "Discovery" 1901, which indicates that it was shelved in Lieutenant Barne's cabin.
