Footnotes

  • Berry worked for Rawes & Co in Lisbon (also acting as agent for Royal Mail Lines), and happened to be in London before Quest left. He met up with her again in Lisbon where Rawes & Co. carried out some repairs. The menu contains all the signatures of the expedition members (excepting Stoker Ross), before the loss of Bee Mason and Mooney (one of the two boy scouts), who were sent home by Shackleton after arrival in Madeira, or the further losses at Cape Verde and Rio.
