The Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, prospectus printed in red and black, tipped-in frontispiece map of proposed route and scale drawing of the Endurance, sewn as issued in original stiff outer wrappers, 4to (281 x 214mm.), Privately Printed, [1914]; with accompanying typed letter, signed in a secretarial hand ("E.H. Shackleton"), to D.D. Fraser, enclosing the prospectus and asking for a contribution of £50 towards the cost of the expedition ("Therefore I feel that in approaching you I can do so with confidence in consideration of the importance of the undertaking which should redound to the prestige of our country and the general advancement of human knowledge"), 2 pages, on Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition headed paper, 4to, 12 June 1914
