  • An account of the three-year scientific expedition by the surgeon of the naval sloop Chanticleer. Exploration in the South Atlantic included Cape Horn and Staten Island, as well as the South Shetlands which were charted in detail and claimed for the British Crown. Lieutenant Edward Kendall was landed on Deception Island.
