Autograph pictorial postcard depicting "Terra Nova" at Lyttleton, signed ("Teddy Evans"), to Arthur Cheatle F.R.C.S, wishing him a Happy New Year, and reporting that "The Merchant Taylor's School Club Theodolite is just off with me on a big sledge journey to lay depôts before our start for the Pole", with New Zealand penny red overstamped "Victoria Land", and circular postal stamp "Antarctic Exped.", "Cape Evans, Lat. 77' 38'S. Long. 166' 23'E", [February, 1912]

  • Scott's second-in-command writing from Cape Evans, mentioning depot-laying in preparation for Scott's "start for the Pole". The recipient Arthur H.
