  • A monumental review of Antarctic explorations from before Captain Cook to the Norwegian whaling explorations of the 1930s. The author, although comprehensively reviewing the Antarctic whaling industry, was personally deeply opposed to the indiscriminate slaughter of whales. This important work has never been translated into English.
