Painted with two shaped panels of figures in a garden comprising a geisha playing a koto, another dancing in accompaniment, watched by a courtesan and her client, surrounded by other panels of flowering plants on an elaborate ground of various brocade designs, in coloured enamels and gilding, the reverse with trailing flowerheads in underglaze-blue.
55.7cm (21 15/16in) diam.
