A large lacquered-wood tonkotsu
18th century
Of straight-sided form and oval section, bearing a brown lacquer and mura-nashiji ground, each side with a shaped panel, one lacquered and inlaid with two hokai (container for carrying food) and the other with a tasselled kusadama (flower ball), suspended from a rolled blind, in gold and coloured takamakie with coloured inlay, unsigned.
