A black lacquer five-case inro
By Koma Koryu, 18th/19th century
Of upright form, the roiro ground with a light dusting of aogai powder, lacquered on one side with a Portuguese gentleman standing, a servant at his back, holding an umbrella over him, the reverse with a Portuguese woman standing, holding a dog, in gold and coloured takamakie with details of inlaid aogai, the interior of nashiji, signed Koma Koryu saku; ivory ojime; and wood and shell manju, of kiku form.
