Of upright form, bearing a kinji ground and lacquered with a cockerel perched on a vine-clad drum, its mate shown on the reverse, foraging for food beneath a spreading pine tree, in gold and slight-coloured takamakie, the interior of nashiji, signed Kajikawa saku with red pot seal; with a gold ojime carved and pierced with sparrows flying over wild flowers, signed Kanju; and an ivory two-part manju, carved and pierced with birds flying over jakago in a stream, beneath a pine tree, unsigned. 9.2cm (3 5/8in).
