20 parts in 19. 8vo (225 x 140 mm). 40 plates by Robert Cruikshank. Advertisements on inside of both wrappers and outside of back, 4-16 pp Chronicles of the Bastille Advertiser in all parts except 16, 17, and 19/20, and 2 pp ad at back of parts 2 and 10. Original blue pictorial wrappers. Custom chemise and half morocco pull-off case. Light spotting to 5 or 6 plates, several parts rebacked, numerous neat repairs to spines and wrappers, some soiling, splatter stains to front wrapper of part 1.

FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL MONTHLY PARTS. Chamerovzow would continue his Bastille series with The Embassy (1845) and Philip of Lutetia (1848).
