FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL MONTHLY PARTS OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL COOKERY BOOK OF THE 19TH CENTURY. As printed in the prospectus the work was originally intended to be completed "in 15 or 18 parts"; however, the project was ultimately expanded to twenty-four, as announced on the front wrappers of parts 19 and following. Published in book form upon the completion of its parts issue in October 1861, Mrs. Beeton's magisterial Household Management sold nearly 2 million copies by 1868, and has remained in print ever since. The first edition is extremely rare in this near fine, original condition. The parts issue of Mrs. Beeton is very rare; ABPC records just 2 copies at auction since 1977.
