An important South Staffordshire enamel tea caddy and three tea canisters, circa 1770
Gilt metal mounted and of rectangular form, the hinged cover and sides finely painted with pastoral scenes, the pink borders edged in gold, the velvet-lined fitted interior containing three canisters painted in similar style, two with circular covers and one with a hinged cover, 20.5cm wide (fine cracks, some patches of restoration) (6)

A third pink ground example was sold at Christie's on 6th December 2005, lot 7.
