Footnotes

  • This and the next two studies were drawn on the set of the ill-fated The Judy Garland Show for possible inclusion in the TV Guide cover story. Famous for his illustrations in Vogue, French artist Bouché was also a sensitive portraitist, his most enduring works being drawings of Jack Benny and Marlene Dietrich. The Judy Garland cover was one of his last assignments.
