A L'Affiche Francais - Cycles Terrot, French, 1902,
French poster, c.1902, advertising Chaine Terrot, a manufacturer of chains for bicycles and automobiles located in Dijon, it depicts a woman joyously driving her car as she emerges from a train tunnel, oblivious to the oncoming train in the background and the concerns of its conductor. This is somewhat unusual, as it was quite uncommon for women to drive automobiles at this time, framed and restored on acid-free linen, measuring approximately 62 X 45in.
