1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible
Chassis no. 164679C039314
By 1969, interest in full-size convertibles was waning and Chevrolet sold only 14,415 Impalas this year, starting at $3,244. The bodies had been squared off with hefty bumpers on both ends.
This car received a reported $15,000 restoration about ten years ago. The engine is a 300-horsepower, 350 cubic-inch V8, with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission with dual exhausts, power brakes and power steering.
The car is well-painted in a shade of olive gold that's probably an acquired taste. The top is new and the interior is pearlescent white vinyl. The car has a tilt wheel, power windows and an AM/FM 8-track stereo. The body is very straight and the panel fit acceptable and the chrome quite good, though the back bumper could use some adjustment. The odometer reads 43,814, which is probably correct.
