1954 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck
Chassis no. 0328833T54X
Chevrolet's Advance-Design trucks were introduced in 1947 but didn't receive their first facelift until 1954. A grille consisting of three horizontal bars bisected by a vertical bar, and a one-piece windshield, were big updates. Out back, the taillights were changed from rectangular to round. Frames were more rigid too. Additionally, the new pickup bodies had deeper sides for more load space with higher walls and a flat top rail.
Up front, the trusty Thriftmaster 235.5-cid straight-six was reengineered with higher compression and high-pressure lubrication. And on the option list for the first time was Hydra-Matic automatic.
Certainly 1954 was a unique year because, come mid-1955, Chevrolet would completely redesign its trucks. That gives this red 1954 3100 pickup uncommon lineage. Part of a large collection since 2006, it has the hardy six-cylinder putting out 115 horsepower backed by a three-speed manual transmission.
