Two tinted and carved ivory figures of beauties
Late Qing dynasty
The first holding a spray of blossoms and dressed robes patterned with gilt bamboo leaves and prunus flowers, her elegant hair gathered in a bun over each ear and trailing down her back and over her shoulders; the second holding a flute in one hand and a tasseled fan in the other, her flowing robes trimmed in black, her lips accentuated in scarlet pigment; both now attached to wooden stands.
