A root wood snuff bottle with colored inlay
Late 19th century
Of oval section with a flat rim to the cylindrical neck, the walls retaining some of the natural contours to the material and delicately carved in relief as an enveloping tree branch with incised twigs that supports a bird with a black and green-inlaid eye, the flat base centered with a circular plug sealed with lacquer.
