American Rose Society Gold Medal
Diameter: 1.5 inches, weight: 45.7 grams. Each year, the American Rose Society picks a single participant that has shown outstanding achievement in producing prize-winning roses and/or projects helping the society, itself. In 1928, the gold medal was awarded to The Montgomery Rose Company. The obverse features AMERICAN ROSE SOCIETY circling the border with five small stars below. A stem with three rose buds is within a plain circle at the center. The reverse is inscribed: AWARDED TO THE MONTGOMERY ROSE CO. FOR ROSE TALISMAN MARCH 19 TO 24 - 1928 PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW MARCH 10 TO 18 - 1928 LOUISVILLE, KY. NATIONAL FLOWER SHOW. Struck in 18k gold with a matte finish and a plain edge, a well preserved example of this seldom-seen prestigious award. Uncirculated
