AVEDON AGREES TO PRODUCE THE PROGRAM FOR THE AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE. In this document, Avedon agrees to shoot and Brodovitch to style the 1948-49 souvenir program for Ballet Theatre, Inc. (later the American Ballet Theatre). Brodovitch, the art director for Harper's Bazaar, discovered Avedon just a few years earlier shooting advertising for a local department store.
