Footnotes

  • Ulysse Nardin designed a series of deck watches beginning around 1900. The current watch is based on one developed c. 1940 and used by the British Admiralty. Introduced in 1943, present movement was a version improved by the addition of indirect seconds, ruby pallets and Guillaume balance. The newly designed precision regulator replaced the conventional swan's neck of the previous model. 1212 pieces were made.

For a history of these watches see Norbert Eder, Beobachtungsuhren. Callwey (1987) pp 98 -117.
