John Westoby Londini fecit, late 17th century
The rising flat top hood over scroll fret and spirally twisted ebonized columns, the long door with convex molding enclosing panels of bird and flower marquetry, centered by a lenticle, the paneled base on later skirting, the 11-inch square brass dial with winged cherub head spandrels, silvered roman and arabic chapter ring, matted center with ringed winding squares, scroll bordered date aperture, and subsidiary seconds, the movement with five knopped and ringed pillars, anchor escapement, striking the hours by means of outside count wheel.
