A German carved and gilt wood quarter striking table clock
Signed Langschwert, Wirzburg, mid 18th century
The case with turned finial above paneled dome and arched molding, glazed side panels flanked by pierced scroll volutes to the angles, raised on paneled scroll feet, shaped gilt dial repousse with leafy scrolls enclosing applied roman chapter ring with arabic minute numerals, further scrolls and trellis pattern to the center, blued hands, rectangular two train brass movement with five knopped pillars, standing barrels, verge escapement with bob pendulum, rack striking the hours and quarters on a single bell above the plates by means of two hammers. 48cm. high
