The tapered case with gilt trellis sound frets around the sides, draped with laurel swags and surmounted by a gadrooned urn, circular white enamel dial with roman chapter ring enclosing arabic date ring, gilt hour hand, replaced minute hand, blued arrow calendar hand, the circular gilt two train movement with later Brocot suspension and pendulum to renewed anchor escapement, striking the hours and half hours and with trip hour repeat on bell by means of rack striking work planted on the back plate. 22in. (56cm.) high
