7 parts in 4 volumes. Folio (398 x 273 mm). A-Z6 2A6 2B8; A-S6 T8; A-Z6 2A-2H6; A-L6 M8; A-S6 T4; A-S6 T8; A-R6 §2 2A-2B6 2A-D6 2E8(-2E8 blank?). Printed in two columns each with commentary surround. Large woodcut arms on all titles and on section title for index, woodcut initials, woodcut printers device repeated twice in part 7, two large genealogical woodcuts. Commentary by Gregorio López. Modern Spanish marbled calf, gilt-ruled, spines gilt in compartments, red morocco lettering- and numbering-pieces. Some dampstain throughout, mostly marginal but darker at start of vols 3 & 4, early marginalia frequently trimmed, short repair to vol 1 title, vol 3 title stained and repaired, part 6 A3 inner margin torn and repaired with slight loss T7-8 with repaired margins; mild shelfwear, joints rubbed.

FIRST EDITION WITH LOPEZ'S COMMENTARY OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SPANISH LEGAL COMPENDIUM. López's edition was the most influential, particularly in Latin America where it was consulted into the 19th century. The first edition is very rare on the market, we trace no copies at auction in the past 30 years.
