This work seems consistent with the series of paintings Phillips did in the Rockies in 1936, many of which appeared in the book, Colour in the Canadian Rockies by Frederick Niven. Even though this work does not appear in that book, there is another painting entitled Wenkchemna Meadows which would be in that general area.
