- This unusual bracelet was made upon Loloma's return from a visit to Japan, where he was apparently quite taken with the beauty of the cultured pearls he saw there. The consignor recounts that: "He (Loloma) was a friend of ours. He helped me with my lapidary work when I was making jewelry in high school and Mom and Dad knew him socially. Dad made a gold crown for his cat's tooth (hilarious story) in exchange for a discount on this bracelet that we got probably in about 1977. The bracelet was actually on some tour of Indian jewelry for a year and was the 'highlighted' 'featured' piece because it was so unique." While the family recalls Charles having said the pearls were of the esteemed Yamamoto (or possibly Mikimoto) provenience, there is no certificate remaining to confirm that.
