A composite Winchester Model 1866 lever action rifle
Serial no. 27821, .44 caliber. 24 inch blued octagonal barrel with standard markings. Silver-plated action. Oil-finished walnut stock and fore-end. Silver-plated buttplate.
Condition: Very good as a composite. Replaced barrel in excellent condition but possibly not a Winchester product, cap of magazine tube missing. Action retains perhaps 20% of what appears to be original silver plated finish. Lever and hammer with areas of light pitting and much recasehardened finish. Stock and fore-end replaced.
