A cased London Colt Model 1849 percussion pocket revolver
Serial no. 1385 for 1854, .31 caliber, 5 inch barrel with two line London address. London view and proof marks. Five-shot cylinder with stagecoach holdup scene. Blued, casehardened and silver-plated finish. Varnished walnut grips. Complete with red velour-lined walnut case, the lid with vacant escutcheon. Interior of lid with directions label. Accessories include blued Colt's Patent two-cavity flask with sprue cutter, Dixon & Sons flask marked Colts Pocket Flask, L-shaped tool, cleaning rod and unopened tin of Eley Brother's caps.
Condition: Fine to excellent. Barrel retains 92-95% dark blue finish showing edge wear and scattered small marks. Cylinder with excellent scene and some slight traces of blue. Loading lever lug with much vivid casehardening. Frame retains much faded casehardening. Triggerguard/gripstrap with 75-80% silver plating. Excellent grips with minor marks. Case lid with minor marks and hairline grain crack, the escutcheon with dark patina and perhaps 25% gilt finish. Label with minor staining and small tear. Lining showing some staining and tear from front sight. Mold with 80% blue. L-shaped tool excellent. Flask with 80% brown lacquer and a few dents.
