A U.S. Model 1813 non-commissioned officer's sword by Nathan Starr
Straight 30 inch single edged blade with 22 inch fuller below the spine and marked above the hilt V/P/US and on the reverse N.Starr. Iron-mounted hilt comprising bilobate guard, the broad quillon with downcurving disc finial, slender knucklebow, plain ferrule and back strap with Smooth walnut grip as specified in the contract. Brass-mounted black leather scabbard, the throat with frog stud.
Condition: Blade with smooth grey metal showing sharp markings and some scattered light pitting. Grip with minor marks. Scabbard with light scuffing but very sound, the mounts with scattered dents, the throat showing some repairs.
