Two framed thangkas
Mongolia or Tibet, 18th/19th century
The first possibly depicting a white Mahakala holding a trident staff in his right hand and an elephant goad in his left as he sits upon a fabulous beast, the lower right and left corners filled with images of Kubera in his white and blue form; the second depicting the red-bodied Hayagriva with three horse heads rising amid his flaming hair beneath an image of Padmasambhava (both thangkas with extensive wear, now laid down on board and framed).
