1991 Honda RS 125 Road Racer
Frame no. RS125RF9110115
Engine no. RS125RE9110129
On offer is a well-kept "customer" version of the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) 125cc two-stroke single that has won 10 world roadracing championships since 1990. Current MotoGP stars Dani Pedrosa, Loris Capirossi and Andrea Dovizioso each won their first world titles aboard RS125s. This particular RS has California race history, details of which are included with literature provided with the motorcycle. Also included in the sale are a fairing in unpainted white gelcoat, a spare crankshaft, a sprocket kit, an extra set of race slicks, a parts list and an operator's manual. As it sits, the bike has been treated to a new crankshaft and piston assembly. HRC claimed 39 horsepower at 12,000 rpm for the RS, more than enough for a lightweight package that scaled in at 150 pounds dry on a 49.6-inch wheelbase. Honda ceased production of the RS125 in 2009 after a 19-year run, but even an early version like this can still be competitive in club road racing classes, and makes an excellent tool for track-day adventures. Sold on a bill of sale.
