GARLAND, JUDY.
1. 4 Autograph Letters Signed and 1 Typed Letter Signed ("Judy" and "Baby"), 11 pp, 4to and 8vo, Los Angeles and London, February 1936 to March 27, 1961, to various correspondents including Jack Warner, Leonard Gershe, and John Carlyle, on various letterheads, earliest letter toned and soiled, otherwise fine. The earliest letter here is written to Charles Murphy, an early beau of Garland's from Bakersfield whom she hasn't seen in four years: "But don't think there has been a day I haven't thought of you. / When I go to parties and dances with guys down here I realize that I'll never have as much fun as I did with you. / I mean it ... Do I remember the first night you taught me to play '3 minutes in heaven'? I haven't played it since." Accompanying this letter is one from Murphy written four years (after the release of The Wizard of Oz made her a star) later threatening to sell her letters unless she agrees to go on a date with him. Another letter is written to actor John Carlyle, who dated Garland in the 1950s: "My darling ... I adore you please take me and know somehow, that you are my way of living ... You are my King."
2. 4 Photographs Signed ("Judy Garland") three 8 by 10 inch silver prints and one 8 by 10 inch half tone, generally good. Together with Signed Check, 1963, inscribed napkin, and Signed Card.
