Lot Details
NADAR, FELIX (FELIX TOURNACHON GASPARD). 1820-1910.
2 Autograph Letters Signed ("Nadar"), each 1 p, 8vo and folio, n.p., n.d. and Paris, 1857, the first floridly expressing condolences presumably on a death, the second to Athanase Coquerel, on letterhead, both fine.

In the second letter, the photographer writes a gushing apology to one of his subjects, the Protestant theologian Athanase Josué Coquerel, whom he seems to have irritated by including his portrait in a collection of "Contemporary Figures" exhibited at the Exposition des Arts Industriels in Brussels.
