Ramsey is a senior Gija lawman, who, like his contemporaries Paddy Bedford and Timmy Timms, began painting relatively late in life for Jirrawun Aboriginal Arts Corporation.
Many of his compositions reflect his country at Elgee Cliffs, North West of Halls Creek, also known more generally as Warlawoon Country. This vast, picturesque land is captured by a complex visual language of simple design referencing roads, stockyards, waterholes and vast gorge country.
