    These two parts of Gould's work on the ant-thrushes were all that were published of an intended four-part publication. John Gould died in February 1881, having completed only Part I. Part II, which comprised only ten pages of text edited by R. Bowdler Sharpe, but without any further plates, was issued in 1881.
