Silver Chromate on Copper
Collected by Frank M. Valenzuela, Pearl Handle Mine, 1800 foot level, Ray Mine, Pinal County, Arizona, circa 1960s
A large cabinet-sized specimen that illustrates the sort of lacy delicacy this native metal can possess with its crystallized dendritic forms and spinel twinned copper crystals. The coating of silver chromate lends an ethereal quality to its appearance.
