1958 Triumph 200cc Tiger Cub Trials
Registration no. ESJ 998
Frame no. T 47600
Engine no. T20 92349
For pre-65 trials enthusiasts a Tiger Cub has long been the definitive mount, enhanced by the innumerable improvements and modifications available on the aftermarket. ESJ has certainly received its fair share of functional "tweaks", including the popular front fork conversion to Marzocchi internals. Owned by the vendor since 2004, he reports the Triumph was rebuilt in 2003, since when it has not been used; the work having been undertaken by Coventry-based Cub specialist Roy Bull. Despite its extended period of non-use however the Cub started first prod, undoubtedly helped by the Gas Gas kick-start lever. It is fitted with new alloy rims, spokes, and sprockets, plus a pair of "alloy" rear units. Sporting an extended alloy fuel tank and a modified frame the Triumph is a purposeful machine, ready to ride, subject to the usual mechanical checks. V5C supplied.
