Footnotes
Replacing the traditional separate chassis, unitary construction arrived at Austin in 1954 in the form of the A40 and A50 Cambridge models, which were powered by B-Series engines of 1.2 and 1.5 litres respectively but otherwise almost identical apart from a higher final drive ratio in the latter's case. The A40 version did not survive post-1956 and the following year the original A50 Cambridge was updated with a usefully bigger boot and little add-on tail fins, becoming the A55. The engine was BMC's 1.5-litre B-Series unit, top speed was 75mph and the car cost £856. However, this was but a short-lived model soon to be replaced by the new Farina-styled Cambridge. In the late owner's possession since at least 1977, this A55 Cambridge appears complete and although it has straight body panels there is some surface corrosion evident. Left standing and not run for many years, 'TVB 450' will require extensive re-commissioning at the very least or, more likely, full restoration before returning to the road. Sold strictly as viewed, the car is finished in ivory over grey with burnt orange interior and comes with old-style Swansea V5. No reserve.
