Kanmuriotoshi-zukuri, iori-mune with slight uchizori forged in masame with ko-nie, the tempered edge choji gunome of nioi, ji-nie with ashi and a long turnback at the tip, both sides carved with naginata hi, the tang ubu with one hole and sujikai file marks, signed on the omote Sanshu Kariya ju Kanju saku and dated Meiji sannen hachigatsu no hi (A day in the eighth month of 1870); silvered-copper one-piece habaki

The koshirae comprising a wood saya with snakes emerging from the interior in soft-metals, the tsuka with a centipede, the kojiri, fuchi-gashira and tsuba shibuichi migaki-ji with blossoming flowers in gold and shakudo taka-zogan, the kozuka with a frog and slug in copper and shibuichi taka-zogan
