Finely formed as a pair of signal batons (saihai), the handle and the tassels rendered in shakudo taka-zogan, signed Kikuoka Mitsumasa

    Mitsumasa is the founder of the Kikuoka school of metal workers. He was a student of Yanagawa Naomitsu (1733-1809) and is listed in the Soken Kisho, the 1781 handbook on various Japanese arts.
