1. BURGER, WARREN. 3 Typed Letters Signed ("Warren E. Burger"), 3 pp, 4to, Washington, DC, March 12, 1981 to June 27, 1985, to Congressman Carlos Moorhead, on Chief Justice letterhead, earliest letter with transmittal envelope, others with related material, latest letter with three holes punched at left margin. The first letter from Burger to Moorhead comes after the two met at a conference sponsored by the Brookings Institute: "I hope we can keep the lines of communication open either by this means or some other. There is real value in having a neutral group like Brookings sponsor the event and afford us this useful forum."
2. REHNQUIST, WILLIAM. 3 Typed Letters Signed ("William H. Rehnquist"), 3 pp, 4to, Washington, DC, October 23, 1993 to September 19, 1996, to Moorhead, on Chief Justice letterhead, the first two requesting that Moorhead support legislation approving the off-grounds authority of the Supreme Court police, holes punched at left margins of all.
