Rivington, 1794-1819. 10 volumes in 4. 244 hand-colored engraved plates by Donovan. 8vo (227 x 140 mm). 19th century half blue calf over cloth boards, spine gilt with red morocco labels, t.e.g. Plates bright and clean, some occasional foxing and offset to text, plates and text not bound in published order, some general wear to covers, a few repairs.

Mixed edition. Finely illustrated by Donovan; many of the subjects are from specimens in his collection, which was housed in his London Museum and Institute of Natural History. Nissen 257; Sitwell Fine Bird Books p 91.
